This is a foot print project.  The students are asked to trace their foot and color, draw, paint, or glue, their favorite things onto the footprint as a way to introduce themselves to the class.  The students are asked to use three types of media. 
This is a great project to get the kids moving around and looking for things that makes them unique.  It is also a great first day of school project so that the teacher can start to learn names.  The project is fun and very creative!
Another way this project can be used is by tracing a student's hand. Then, say the students are learning about the scientific method, the students would draw, color, and describe the method on their "fingers". After the students can explain the method in their own words using their hand as a model. The project would really get the kids thinking creatively so that the material is remembered better.
